Kick Affiliate Requirements

Kick doesn't spell out its rules as neatly as Twitch, and most guides mix up the numbers. Here's what the entry Affiliate tier actually takes, the full Kick Partner Program gates, how the 95/5 split and payouts work, and a realistic plan to get there.

Kick numbers move — verify in your dashboard

Unlike Twitch, Kick doesn't publish a fixed requirements table, adjusts thresholds regularly, and says meeting them doesn't guarantee acceptance. Figures here reflect what's reported for the Affiliate and Partner tiers in early 2026 — always confirm the live bars via the Kick Partner Program and your Creator Dashboard.

Subs are on and the 95/5 split is live. Now the concurrent-viewer gate is the slow part — that's the real Partner bottleneck, not follower count.

75 average viewers, 25 active subs, 250 unique chatters, and 3 VODs in one 30-day window. Keep VODs up and stay Kick-exclusive to protect payouts.

Common misconceptions

Things people get wrong about Kick

Myth

Kick has no rules — anyone monetizes instantly.

Reality

There's an entry Affiliate tier (commonly cited at ~75 followers plus some real streaming time) that unlocks subscriptions. Full Partner status is far stricter. Kick can change these numbers, so treat your Creator Dashboard as the source of truth.

Myth

On Kick you keep 100% of your revenue.

Reality

Kick's subscription split is 95/5 — the most creator-friendly in the industry, but not 100%. You keep 95% of sub revenue; Kick takes 5%.

Myth

Every Kick streamer gets paid $16 an hour.

Reality

The hourly rate ($10–$16) applies to approved Partners only and is based on verified organic viewership. It is not automatic, and self-generated or bot traffic does not count toward it.

Myth

Multistreaming to Twitch and Kick at once is fine.

Reality

As of Kick's October 2025 Terms update, multistreaming can reduce Kick Partner Program eligibility and payout rates by up to 50%. If you're chasing Partner, go Kick-exclusive on those sessions.

Myth

Kick requirements are fixed and official like Twitch's.

Reality

Kick adjusts its thresholds frequently and states that meeting the requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Always confirm the current bars in your Creator Dashboard before you plan a push.

Myth

You must be an Affiliate before you can apply for Partner.

Reality

Kick doesn't formally require Affiliate first — but you cannot hit the 25 active-subscriber gate without Affiliate-level subscription monetization already running, so in practice Affiliate comes first.

Week by week

Getting to Kick monetization

Based on 2–3 streams per week with some promotion. Affiliate can come quickly; Partner is a longer build since its viewer and subscriber gates measure a full 30-day window.

1

Week 1

Lock down the accountTurn on 2FA, verify your email, and finish your profile — links, About section, and payout details. Pick a category where you can realistically appear near the top, and schedule your first streams so people know when to show up.

2

Week 2

Clear the follower gateThe entry Affiliate bar sits around 75 followers. Promote your go-live in Discord, X, and relevant communities. If organic growth is slow, paced followers close the gap without the unnatural spike Kick watches for.

3

Week 3

Enable subs and build hoursOnce Affiliate unlocks, switch on subscriptions — that's the 95/5 split live on your channel. Now stack streaming hours toward the 30-hour Partner window and start converting viewers into your first subscribers.

4

Week 4

Push toward Partner numbersPartner needs 75 average concurrent viewers, 25 active subs, 250 unique chatters, and 3 saved VODs in a 30-day window. Concentrate live-viewer support on the streams you want to count, keep your VODs up, and stay Kick-exclusive to protect payout rates.

Kick Partner: what it actually takes

Affiliate is about switching monetization on. Partner is about proving a real, live audience — around 75 average concurrent viewers, 30 hours streamed, 25 active subscribers, 250 unique chatters, and 3 available VODs, all inside a 30-day window, on top of a 250+ follower baseline and a verified channel. Kick is explicit that hitting the numbers doesn't guarantee approval.

The subscriber gate is the one that quietly forces an order of operations: you can't reach 25 active subs until Affiliate-level subscriptions are already enabled. So even though Kick doesn't formally require Affiliate first, that's the real sequence for almost everyone.

The 95/5 split and how payouts work

Kick's headline advantage is the 95/5 subscription split — you keep 95% of sub revenue where Twitch's standard deal keeps you at 50%. Approved Partners can also earn an hourly rate of roughly $10–$16 based on verified organic viewership, which is why artificial traffic doesn't help here: it isn't the kind of viewership that rate is measured against.

Payouts run weekly through Stripe once you pass a $50 minimum. Connect Stripe and verify your identity during onboarding early — that step takes longer than people expect and can hold up a first payout.

The multistreaming trade-off

Since Kick's October 2025 Terms update, multistreaming to Kick and another platform at the same time can cut your Partner Program eligibility and payout rates by up to 50%. If you're actively chasing Partner, run those qualifying sessions Kick-exclusive — the payout math rarely favours splitting the audience.

Because Kick revises these thresholds regularly, the single reliable source is your own Kick Partner Program page and Creator Dashboard. Check them before you commit to a two-month push.

What actually works

How to move the numbers Kick measures

  1. Pick visibility over prestige. Kick's directory is smaller than Twitch's, so a well-chosen category can put you on page one fast. Discovery drives concurrent viewers far quicker than chasing the biggest game.
  2. Treat every stream as a launch event. Post your go-live link 15 minutes early across Discord, X, and one relevant community. Returning viewers convert to subs and chatters faster than cold traffic.
  3. Keep your VODs up. Partner review checks for recent saved broadcasts (3 in the window). Don't delete them — they're a requirement, and they pull in off-schedule views.
  4. Clear the follower gate cleanly. The ~75-follower Affiliate bar is usually the fastest to clear. Run paced Kick followers so the growth looks natural instead of a 0-to-500 spike Kick would flag.
  5. Support your Partner-push streams. Concurrent viewers are the real Partner bottleneck. Run paced Kick viewers only on the sessions you want counted toward your 75 average — track every order from your dashboard.

Track your progress in the Kick Creator Dashboard — it's the only place that shows the live thresholds for your account and region.

Questions

Kick milestone FAQ

Yes — Kick's entry-level creator tier, commonly called Affiliate, is what unlocks subscriptions and basic monetization. It's the first step before the full Kick Partner Program. Because Kick adjusts requirements often, always confirm the current bars in your Creator Dashboard.
